Bad Wildbad Kurpark

The Kurpark in Bad Wilbad is the perfect place for a Sunday walk or even a Saturday walk. It's not all forest and rivers. Above coloured umbrellas mark the bar-restaurant Melange beside the River Enz and not far away is a covered bandstand where concert music is played on most days.

There are plenty of routes through the park mostly following the River Enz as it flows into the town. For the more energetic there are pathways all the way up to the Sommerberg plateau, which is over 700 meters above the town. 

As well as interesting bird life along the river such as kingfishers and dippers, there is also a small pond and aviary with a variety of ducks and geese. Some of the ducks were new to me like the one below, top right: a white faced whistle duck, but others can often be seen in park ponds and in the wild.

Not far from the town centre is the English church and beside it a giant red cedar tree, which is quite spectacular and well worth a visit.

 

Below the colourful Mandarin duck, one of the many birds in an aviary beside the pond. Further down are tennis courts and a wellness park. Well it's beginning to sound like a travel brochure but what the heck! It is a great place to walk around and relax, no stress and you can even stop off for 'cafe und Kuchen' and dare I say and a piece of Black Forest gateaux.
